The site will not load or the chat will not start
Start with the boring fixes, because they solve most of it: reload the page, then try a different modern browser — current Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari. A strict VPN, ad blocker, or privacy extension can block the pieces a live video chat needs, so try pausing them for chatnow.tv. On restrictive Wi-Fi — offices, dorms, some mobile carriers — switching to another network is often the whole fix. Still stuck? Write to [email protected] with your device, browser, and a screenshot of what you see.
Camera and microphone permission
Both are opt-in: nothing turns on until you tap it, and the permission prompt comes from your browser, not from us. If you accidentally hit Block, click the padlock or camera icon in the browser address bar, set camera and microphone to Allow, and reload. A black video square usually means another app is holding the camera — close it and reload. On iPhone, Safari handles camera access the most reliably. Nobody on the other side of a chat can switch your devices on for you; that part is physically impossible here.
Matching takes too long or finds nobody
One tap puts you in the pool and pairs you with the next available person — if it spins without connecting, reload once, then check that your connection is steady; live video is the first thing a weak network drops. The crowd changes completely by hour and timezone, so a quiet stretch usually ends by trying again later rather than troubleshooting your device. And when a match is simply not a fit, tap Next — that button existing is why the pool stays healthy. More on how the flow works: instant video chat.
Coins and charges
ChatNow is free to start — matching and first chats cost nothing, and every coin price is shown before you confirm. Payments run through an external processor, so the charge on your statement comes from them, not from a name you will recognize as ChatNow. Paid but no coins arrived? Forward the receipt to [email protected] and we will trace it. Charged for something you did not mean to buy, or coins vanished? Contact us and we will review it case by case — include the receipt and roughly when it happened.
Account and sign-in
You never need an account to chat — guests get matching, video, voice, and text from the first tap. An account adds the continuity features: call history, follows, and message threads, which is why losing access to it matters. If you cannot sign in, first check you are using the exact email you registered with, then write to [email protected] from that same address so we can verify it is you. If you simply want ChatNow closer at hand, the ChatNow app page shows how to pin it to your home screen — no store download involved.
Reporting and staying safe
Three controls live inside every chat: Skip ends it and re-matches you, Block keeps that person from ever pairing with you again, and Report sends the case to the moderation team on duty 24/7. Use Report for anything that crosses a line — it protects the next person too, and suspected minors go straight to the front of the queue. For the habits that prevent problems in the first place, read the safety tips page once; it takes two minutes. Anything the buttons cannot cover goes to [email protected].
