Respect the stranger
Every person you match with arrived the same way you did — curious, and hoping the next tap brings a good conversation. Treat them that way. Greet people like people, take no for an answer on the first ask, and skip freely when a chat is not for you instead of turning it sour. ChatNow is adults-only, but adult means mature, not lawless: these rules apply to every match, on video, voice, and text alike. A matching pool only stays good because the people in it keep it good — this page is what keeping it good means in practice.
Keep your clothes on
ChatNow is an 18+ platform, and it still has a dress code. No nudity, no sexual acts on camera, no sexual pressure in text — not as an opener, not as a joke, not after two minutes of seeming nice. If a chat is heading somewhere the other person has not clearly invited, it has already gone too far. People come here to talk and flirt within the rules; anyone who cannot manage that loses access to the matching pool.
No harassment, no hate
Nothing aimed at demeaning another person survives here: no slurs, no threats, no mocking someone for their body, accent, country, or beliefs, and no following a person across matches after they have skipped or blocked you. The built-in translation means you will meet people who think and speak differently from you — that is the point of random chat, not a provocation. Everyone can tell the difference between teasing someone you are vibing with and degrading a stranger, and so can our moderators. Disagree like an adult or tap Next. Both are free.
No minors, ever
Everyone on ChatNow must be 18 or older — no exceptions, no gray areas. Do not use the service if you are underage, do not claim to be younger than you are, and do not bring anyone under 18 into a chat, on camera or off. If you suspect the person you matched with is a minor, report it immediately and end the chat. Those reports jump to the front of the moderation queue, and confirmed cases are removed and, where appropriate, escalated.
No scams and no begging
Any request for money, gifts, gift cards, or moving to another platform to continue is the end of that conversation — report it and skip. The same goes for sob stories engineered to open your wallet, links that pull you off ChatNow, and anyone pretending to be someone they are not, including pretending to work for us. ChatNow staff will never ask you for money, passwords, or payment details inside a chat. Ever. One quieter rule lives here too: do not use matches to advertise your own links, channels, or side business — the chat is for conversation, not promotion.
No recording or sharing
What happens in a chat stays between the two people in it. Recording, screenshotting, or redistributing another user — anywhere, in any form — without their clear consent is a violation, and in many places a crime. The flip side protects you too: assume anything you show on camera could outlive the moment, keep identifying details out of frame, and treat your background like the window into your life that it is. The safety tips page covers the habits worth building before your first match.
Reports and consequences
The report button inside the chat is the fastest path to action — it reaches the moderation team on duty 24/7 with the context attached. Consequences scale with severity: a warning for a first minor stumble, limits on matching for a pattern, a permanent ban for the serious violations, which skip the earlier steps entirely. False reports waste protection meant for real cases and are themselves a violation. Think a decision about your account was wrong? Appeal it at [email protected] — a human re-reads every one.
